We’re not that different: A feminist man strikes back | Article | The Punch
Men remain the perpetrators of terrible violence against women, Asher forgets. Rape, partner violence, and assault all remain widespread, and the problem is our current construction of masculinity.
Feminism is the movement for women, but men are the ones who need to sit up and listen. For too long, men have ignored or dismissed the insights that feminism can provide. Contrary to what Asher claims, we do not need to find our ‘essential’ masculine selves or stick to traditional ideals.
Rather, we must look to feminism to make apparent how our beliefs and actions affect women and ourselves.
Then, and only then, will we see that valuable qualities, skills, and the success of our relationships are not determined by our roles as either women or men, but that they are actively chosen and developed.
A intelligent and fair men talks about feminism and women.
I wish the majority of men thought the way you do.like you. The world will be a fair and happier.
