Could teaching empathy stop bullying? Is empathy the answer and if so, what is the responsibility of the media and programs such as Australia Idol, X-factor, etc?
Are we allowing and legitimating bullying socially when broadcasting programs that do humiliate and bully someone because of their looks and their presumed inadequacies?
What are we saying to our youth? That there is nothing wrong and socially unacceptable in making fun of the different and less fortunate.
We are making our future and it does not look pretty...
