Court documents show murdered Australian girl Zahra Baker may also have been raped | The Australian
Murdered Australian girl Zahra Baker may have been raped by associates of her stepmother in North Carolina before she was killed and dismembered, according to court documents cited today by The Charlotte Observer.
How much can a little girl suffer?
The majority of humans are good, but we are allowing monsters to have short sentences, and be free again to take many children innocence, harm and sometimes killing them in ways hard to imagine.
By allowing short sentences, we are failing to protect our children, our future.
Good men and women should unite, discuss and join efforts to stop children predators.

Australian Federal Police (AFP) assistant commissioner Neil Gaughan says it's clear some of the abuse featured on the websites originated in Australia.
"But as Luis rightly pointed out, a significant number of arrests have taken place in the US and the rest will continue to take place globally.
"At this stage we're looking at the Australian angle.
"We've made no arrests in Australia at this stage."
The smashing of the websites was announced on Wednesday as members of the VGT met ahead of a conference in Sydney tomorrow and Friday."
At least some will be out of the system for a few years, but are we really winning the war against children porn?
The media can play an important role not only exploiting the news, but by creating a forum to discuss actions to protect children from criminals.
In a society like ours driven by technology, our children are vulnerable to predators and parents are almost powerless to protect them.
I am shocked with the lack of time the media spends in such important ongoing problems such as this one.
The investigators in this case, deserve a gold medal for protecting our children and it is about time that our society properly appreciates their efforts and set some good man role models.

Homophobic nations win at UN on SameSame.com.au
Homophobic nations win at UN on SameSame.com.au
The United Nations has voted to remove sexual orientation from a list of identifying characteristics which make people vulnerable to hate-based executions, a move which has shocked and angered LGBT campaigners.
With many African or Arabic countries where homosexuality is illegal voting to support the change, it passed 79-70.
Stalwart gay equality campaigner Peter Tatchell said it was a shameful day in the UN’s history.
“It gives a de facto green light to the on-going murder of LGBT people by homophobic regimes, death squads and vigilantes,” he observes. “They will take comfort from the fact that the UN does not endorse the protection of LGBT people against hate-motivated violence and murder.
“The UN vote is in direct defiance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which guarantees equal treatment, non-discrimination and the right to life. What is the point of the UN if it refuses to uphold its own humanitarian values and declarations?”
This vote is partly the result of a disturbing homophobic alliance between mostly African and Arab states, he points out. “LGBT people in these countries often suffer severe persecution.”
South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Uganda, Iran and Iraq were among the nations which supported the change, while Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States opposed it.
Many LGBT human rights organisations, pundits and lobby groups have also expressed their shock and outrage at the UN decision, worrying that it could lead to more executions in particularly homophobic countries where gay lives are at risk.
It took us centuries to evolve and in a short space of time we went a several decades back.
Just hope our children do not have to go back to the dark ages or the caves. So sad, humanity is not evolving or even revolving.

LNP gives would-be MPs psychometric tests | News.com.au
The tests used by the LNP hierarchy specifically measure a person's aptitude rather than concentrate on an individual's personality traits.
The tests measure a person's ''fluid and crystalised intelligence''. Fluid intelligence refers to a person's ability to think quickly or use their ''street smarts'', while crystalised intelligence means their ability to employ their knowledge from past experiences.
Does that mean it is not important for individual to have a good character? Would a psychopath pass the test?
It could be a good or a bad move for the LNP.
What are they really testing for?
As long as you can win elections we do not care about your character flaws.

Consuming high amounts of beta-carotene's less well-known antioxidant cousin, alpha-carotene, in fruits and vegetables can lower the risk of dying from all causes, including heart disease and cancer.
The researchers studied 15,318 American adults, 20 years of age or older, who took part in the Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. All underwent a medical exam between 1988 and 1994, during which time blood samples were taken. Participants were tracked for a 14-year period through 2006. By that point, more than 3,800 participants had died. Most people - regardless of lifestyle habits, demographics or overall health risks - had fewer life-limiting health troubles as their blood concentrations of alpha-carotene rose. The effect was dramatic, with risks falling from 23 to 39 percent as an individual's alpha-carotene levels climbed.
Blood analyses revealed that, compared with those who had blood alpha-carotene levels of between 0 and 1 micrograms per decilitre (mcg/dL), those falling in the range of between 2 and 3 mcg/dL faced a 23 percent lower risk of death from all causes.

Vaccine could Fight Colorectal Cancer using Patient's own Tumor
Vaccine could Fight Colorectal Cancer using Patient's own Tumor
Dr. Barth has been investigating dendritic cell vaccines in humans and mice for more than 10 years. The researchers now understand the vaccine can be used to destroy tiny cancer cells that would eventually lead to death rather than destroying large colorectal tumors.
He explains, "It turned out we were asking the T-cells to do too much. The small number of T-cells that are generated by a vaccine can't destroy a large tumor. However, what they may be able to do is search out and destroy tumor cells that exist as only microscopic tumor deposits. Once we brought patients into a measurable tumor-free condition with surgery, the anti-tumor T-cells induced by the DC vaccine may help keep them that way."
The study included 26 patients with colorectal cancer and metastasis. The vaccine was given one month after surgery. At five-year follow-up, 63 percent of the patients developed an immune response to the DC vaccine and showed no signs of tumor. Just 18 percent those who failed to develop an immune response were cancer free.
Barth says he believes the vaccine could have an impact for treating cancer because "It's your own immune system doing the fighting.” The DC vaccine could lead to less toxic colorectal cancer treatment that can also prevent its return; pending further studies.

Brown, Kristin wrote about bullying and described herself as "someone who has been rejected, victimised and ostracised".
It is so sad that people feel so much despair in their lives, that our society isolates people from each other, and our culture does not provide enough support to the most fragile, sick and abused.
I do feel that the media could help so much by changing the trend it follows at the present.
A trend that only follows young, beautiful and shallow instead of young, old, beautiful and not so beautiful.
Our culture idolizes the grog, excuses bad behavior, if it is brainier and good it is not cool. Why?
We do not want to feel inadequate? We want to fit in with the bullies? Or just because it is much easier to be bad than good.

If you’re eating toast as you read this, you might want to put it down – or at least lower the setting on the toaster. You’re about to have a science lesson from Dr Josephine Forbes of the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute on how many common foods – toast and croissants included - can produce chemicals now suspected of fast-tracking ageing and chronic disease.
Called Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs for short), these chemicals turn up in foods ranging from hash browns to cola drinks and – sorry - coffee. Studies by Forbes and researchers overseas suggest that too many AGEs building up in the body can contribute to heart disease and diabetes – and the wrinkling and pigmentation that goes with ageing skin.
The foods producing the most AGEs tend to be processed foods high in sugar or fat, especially animal fat, that are then grilled, baked or fried at high temperatures, often until they’re crispy and golden.

"A really high proportion of university students are reporting higher levels of psychological distress and significantly more than that in the general population," she said.
Dr Stallman screened more than 6,000 students about their mental health.
She found 84 per cent were suffering psychological distress and she says almost one-fifth showed signs of mental illness.
"Students who are suffering very high levels of distress that is probably indicative of mental health problems, we had 19 per cent of students reporting that high," she said.
"In the general population that's only 3 per cent of people."
The study, published in the latest edition of Australian Psychologist, found students were feeling distressed about financial issues.

Fruits, veg diet can cut cancer risk
2010-11-21 07:30:00
London, Nov 21 (IANS) Eating a wide variety of fruit and vegetables every day can slash the risk of developing lung cancer by a quarter, a study has revealed.
According to the study, eating at least eight types of fruits and vegetables in a day is key and more beneficial than eating only four a day.
Smokers in particular can cut their risk, but it entirely depends on the variety they eat and not just the quantity of food, reports express.co.uk.
Those eating eight or more different types of fruit and veg can reduce their chances of developing epidermoid carcinoma of the lung by up to 23 percent.
'Apart from the amount consumed, a varied diet reduces the risk of developing this cancer - above all in smokers,' said Maria Jose Sanchez Perez, the Spanish co-author of the study.

(Nanowerk News) Researchers at BYU have created a micro device that could both decrease the amount of blood and time needed to test for cancer-markers in a patient's blood.
Chemistry professor Adam Woolley's research, published in a recent issue of the journal, Lab on a Chip, details the device and technique that would allow for effective detection of biomarkers in a blood sample in a matter of minutes rather than days or weeks.
"You could walk into the doctor's office, the nurse could prick your finger instead of sticking a needle in your vein, and 30 or 40 minutes later, you'd get the results back in the same doctor's office," Woolley said.
Woolley said the current approach for detecting biomarkers, ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay), works well as long as you're doing it in high volumes. This is why blood samples are usually sent to a clinical lab where they can run dozens of samples at the same time.
And while ELISA is efficient and cost effective if, say, there are 90 blood samples to process, the BYU micro device would allow a technician to look at just one sample quickly and cost-effectively to determine if there are markers for, say, breast cancer or prostate cancer.

What happens when bullying that starts at home makes in way into the classroom? Or when the teasing that started on the family's computer spills over into the school cafeteria? Those were the questions a small group of parents who gathered in the South Pasadena Middle School library last night hoped they could work with administrators and teachers
"Anyone can be a cyber-bully," Mercer told the assembled parents. "The sense of anonymity on the Internet makes young people feel like they can say things online that they would never say in person."

Our world can be very cruel for sensitive, intelligent and shy people. I do know that there are many people that feel very lonely.
Sometimes opportunities do not present to meet others alike, they encounter bullies and not so nice people and they feel desperate, lonely and without hope.
Life is not easy for the less shallow...I really feel sorry they could not find people that made them feel good and needed.
For every one that contemplates suicide, think how rich your lives can be if you find people that understand you and enjoy your company.
There are many that need your love and attention, go and find them, someone to help, do not waste your life ,do not give up at the fist idiots you encounter.
Even if you are not happy today you can be tomorrow. Never give up. There are many sensitive and good people around. Go and find them. Like you they need you too.

If real it is impossible that our governments do not know about it.
Are these sightings real UFO, pranks, or secret spy aircraft? Will we the "peasants" ever know the true?

While more countries are participating in science, there is also a shift in global influence. China is a hair’s breadth away from counting more researchers than either the USA or the European Union, for instance, and now publishes more scientific articles than Japan.
Even countries with a lesser scientific capacity are finding that they can acquire, adopt and sometimes even transform existing technology and thereby ‘leapfrog’ over certain costly investments, such as infrastructure like land lines for telephones. Technological progress is allowing these countries to produce more knowledge and participate more actively than before in international networks and research partnerships with countries in both North and South.

Drug Made From Soybeans Could Halt Prostate Cancer | Care2 Healthy & Green Living
Researchers at Northwestern University have found that genistein, a natural chemical found in soy, inhibits prostate cancer cells from becoming metastatic and spreading to other parts of the body.
Advocates of holistic living have long championed the fact that food can be used to fight serious illnesses and diseases, including cancer. For the most part, traditional medicine has cautioned against these claims, but this new research might be proof that they can’t avoid.
The study examined 38 men that were diagnosed with localized prostate cancer. When administered once a day in pill form, one month prior to surgery, it was found that the soybean drug had beneficial effects on the prostate cancer cells.
When examined after surgery, researchers found that patients that received genistein enjoyed an increased expression of genes that suppress the invasion of cancer cells and decreased the expression of genes that enhance invasion.
Although the results are promising, scientists say that another phase of the study is needed to determine if the soybean drug can really prevent cancer cells from moving out of the prostate and into the rest of the body
“If this drug can effectively stop prostate cancer from moving in the body, theoretically, a similar therapy could have the same effect on the cells of other cancers,” said Raymond Bergan, professor of hematology and oncology at Northwestern University.

In a cohort of patients with ovarian cancer, tumor shrinkage was observed in 81% of patients, and stable disease was reported in 48% of patients. The overall week-12 disease control rate, or DCR, was 64%. Furthermore, in a subset analysis, the activity of XL184 in both platinum-sensitive and platinum-resistant/refractory cancer was also very promising. In a cohort of patients with prostate cancer, 95% of patients achieved complete or partial resolution of metastatic bone lesions. For soft tissue lesions, tumor shrinkage was observed in 69% of patients, and stable disease was reported in 74% of cases. The week-12 DCR in the prostate cancer cohort was 71%. No major safety issues were observed in either trial.
Exelixis is studying its lead drug candidate, XL184, across a broad range of tumor types, and the drug has demonstrated anti-tumor activity in nine of 12 indications studied to date. The week-12 DCR for the overall population was 49%, with the highest rates occurring in liver cancer, prostate cancer, and ovarian cancer.

Ms Matthews' lawyer, Stephen Hopper, said there was no way for police to prove that his client was the one who signed the statutory declaration at Campbelltown police station on June 10. Mr Hopper said that meant Ms Matthews should not have been charged with the offence of making a false complaint to police.
I do not want to offend anyone, but what if someone assaults a bank or harms someone, the police can not ask them to show their face?
If there is no way to identify the person doing the driving or a drivers test, anyone can pretend to be anyone, specially in an accident.
How can they confirm their identity if a crime is committed?
Australians are willing to make exceptions and accommodate others, and it is really sad to see a policeman falsely accused of racism.
I do not deny there are some elements of our community that are racists, and intolerant but I also see a lot of intolerance in the Muslim community too.
Respect and the effort to live in harmony should be the work of all of us, not same of us.

Australians are fed up with politics and cynical about their future
On the origin of the sceptics - Unleashed (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
Oreskes, Professor of History and Science Studies at the University of California San Diego, has just arrived in Australia on a whistle-stop speaking tour promoting her new book, co-authored with Erik Conway, titled Merchants of Doubt - How a handful of scientists obscured the truth on issues from tobacco smoke to global warming.
Oreskes spoke to the ABC’s Lateline program on this brand of scepticism which also drove its perpetrators to cast doubt over the causes of acid rain, the linking of tobacco smoke to cancer and the use of CFCs in eating the ozone.
I do think the public knows we all need to do something about the climate, but we are also very cynical of the fairness and efficacy of the all process.
We see council detecting devices for parking to raise money from the public but we do not see investment in innovative devices or processes to improve the environment.
Many of us are concerned with high interest rates, the price of electricity bills are going through the roof and other essential commodities.
Accurate or not we hear in the news, that if power companies decide to bill us $3000 for electricity they can, only because you live in the wrong side of the street, and there is nothing we can do.
The government appears unwilling to take any steps to help us in anything.
If the cost of living continues to rise the way it has been many families will be at risk of loosing their houses, and as much as they are concerned with the climate they are more concerned with their families well being today.
Government oppositions should be critical but with objectivity and common sense, and have appropriate costing done to promises they make.
This government or the Liberals are not selling their vision(if they have one), there is no assurance and stability given to Australians, no optimism in our future.
Everyone is saying how well our economy is doing and it is compared with the world but we rarely see the news talking about other countries is like we are in a plastic bubble...
We see politicians receiving pay rises that will compensate them, bank managers with millions and than the rest of us(families struggling to pay mortgages and pensioners without electricity) dealing with the day to day bills and very near the limit.
Some of us, know that the opposition did open the gates to many people, without prior good management and investment in infrastructure, but knowing this does not help to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
What is the government doing or going to do for our well being?
Show us your vision and your results, compare it with the world, justify it.
Tell us what will happen if it is not done. Help us to visualize our great future.
It is not good to say we are going to be surplus in 2012, what are they going to do after that.
Why should we keep them in government?
Labor and Liberals are so lost in their own internal power struggles that it seems none have a real vision for Australia, only a grab for power.
We the public are becoming very cynical, and disappointed with politics and specially both major parties.
Why are we asked to make sacrifices, when at the same time politicians are having big pay rises.
Understand your constituents pains and desires, this is if you want them to vote for you.

For tens of thousands of prostate cancer victims, Provenge equals hope. To make the drug, the patient's own blood cells are drawn and then exposed in a lab to a protein that mimics the cancer.
They're then returned to the patient essentially supercharged to attack the cancer. The issue is that it costs $93,000 per patient for four extra months of survival.

"Indeed," stated Dr Mark Hayes in an article in Webdiary (Feb 2007), "the literature suggests that workplace bullies tend to be threatened by their targets in various ways and to deal with the threat, bullies seek to control, contain, or even remove the threat, all the while getting off on the torment they are causing. The threat can actually be the target's productivity, skills, talent, popularity with peers and even superiors, which, completely inadvertently, shows up the bully's inadequacies. Like whistleblowers, the bully's target may well have a strong conscience which all but drives them to speak and act truthfully because they cannot act in any other way. The target must be put in their place."
Beyond Bullying (New Zealand) also emphasise the 'perception' of 'threat', stating, "A Target is an individual who by accident has the desirable qualities of competence, networking and emotional intelligence. This individual is selected as an object towards which the Workplace Bully can direct an unrelenting stream of harm — mainly subtle and some obvious — in order to reduce the Target’s performance and self esteem while increasing the Workplace Bully’s own view of her/his own self importance. For the Workplace Bully, the Target is perceived as a threat." [Beyond Bullying].
A brief profile of a potential bully 'target' - far from being the 'spectacled, nerdy wimp' - they pose a perceived 'threat' to bullies...
In contrast to the 'bully boss', the stereotype of the 'nerdy' bully target' is far removed. While the 'targets' of workplace bullies do share a number of common characteristics, these traits generally paint 'targets' as being: ethical, just, fair, well-liked, highly personable, strong, independent, intelligent and self-assured people. The public is learning that Rudd despite his christian believes and risking criticism from his christian community, was courageously more committed to social justice than Gillard and the likes.
Labor did an enormous disservice to their followers by assassinating Kevin and choosing Gillard and the Arbib gang.
But the point I make is what is Bill Shorten and Arbib political deal?
It is obvious that they want to get rid of Julia and no one will feel sorry, but it will be a really stupid move.
Bill, Arbib or their people keep popping up in the news, is Labor going to allow their move to grab power?
The public will not be allowed to forget unless they vanish from the news. Does not look good for Labor.

In studies of mice, the researchers found that slowing down a specific system for tolerating DNA damage in cancer cells not only prolonged the lives of the mice, but also prevented relapsed tumors from becoming resistant to chemotherapy, and made tumors much less likely to spread to other parts of the body.

To overcome this problem, Andrei Sommer at the University of Ulm in Germany and colleagues exposed cells to pulsed red laser light. Light of this wavelength decreases water density and pushes water out of the cell. When the laser is switched off, the water returns to its high-density state, forcing the cell to "suck in" water and any other molecules, including drugs, from its surroundings.

MP Arbib lashed for backing gay marriage as Aussies support change | News.com.au
It is shameful that Labor lost the biggest opportunity in history. This country was managed well during the worst economic crisis the world had ever seen, but a bunch of greedy individuals decided to remove their Labor prime minister from power without any consultation with the public.
As a excuse they say Kevin was going to loose the elections, are you kidding? they had the best possible cards to win with an effective campaign, but they did not want to have a good campaign.? Why? For what? Dislikes and power struggles within the party?
That decision destabilized a country, without any need for it, wasted millions of dollars, and Labor lost the majority, almost the elections if not for the support of the greens and independents.
In the aftermath, no heads rolled, and the dreadful campaign "managers" were not penalized, instead all involved were rewarded one way or another.
Only Kevin was demoted, the Prime Minister of one of the most successful worldwide governments during the world economic crisis.
Being sacked not by the public but by their own colleagues. Can we trust the judgment of Labor leaders?
History will not treat the so called "faceless men" well, but the labor party does.
It shows their inadequacy in understanding the majority of their voters, their opinion, morals and decency. Labor lost, and will continue to loose votes.
The opposition could not believe their luck but they were not very smart either, if not for their bad choice of Abbot(lost many women votes), they probably would have won.
Labor can not sell their wonderful past achievements without reminding the public of Kevin and their mischief. Labor is still not getting the message from his voters.
For the good of their party they should remove people like Arbib from the public eye and make amends.
Labor is still not loosing any opportunity to attack Kevin, what makes matters worst.
Imagine you are humiliated and teased publicly, you loose the grip of your emotions, and lash out or even leak not lies but truths, who do you think the majority of the public will support and identify with?
Why they think it is acceptable to continue to treat Kevin the way they do? They should recognize how wrong they treated a human being, his own colleague and be really ashamed.
As a human being, they can certainly see what is right and what is wrong. Stop excusing what was a terrible display of bullying and bad decisions. Make amends.
Julia was a Labor power figure and with an effective campaign Labor would have won with Kevin, and probably next with Julia and for that reason "faceless men" took the decision to "kill" two rabbits in one go. Now back to the plan, get rid of Julia and open the way for ...
Mr Arbib and friends tells us your real plan. Forget it, it will not work, live with it.
I consider myself a decent human being that dislikes any party dirty politics.

ABOUT 13 people a week who apply for jobs working with children are considered a risk by state authorities but only about 5 per cent are rejected.
Welfare groups also fear child sex offenders avoid detection altogether by taking up volunteer positions.
The community body Child and Adolescent Sexual Assault Counsellors said the system made it too easy for predators to avoid detection.
Spokeswoman Catharina Webb said: ''We know that the sexual abuse of a child is a planned activity. These people seek the opportunity to have access to children, either in paid or volunteer positions. Signing a declaration doesn't mean much because these people will lie.''
Child sex offenders should be given harder penalties, and be publicly registered and known. Anyone working with children should be checked prior to their volunteering.

"Most kids are not the bully or the victim," Duffell said. "They're the bystander, whether they're egging the bully on, or just standing there. And they are the easier ones to change."
It only takes one bystander to reduce a bully's impact by standing up and getting others to call out bad behavior. They can do the same online, by not forwarding a hurtful message or link.
Impossible as that sounds, Duffell said, "we are very hopeful."
Indeed, bystanders are speaking up all the time.

Rudd 'gatecrashed' Hillary Clinton TV event | News.com.au
Rudd 'gatecrashed' Hillary Clinton TV event | News.com.au The way Labor is treating Kevin Rudd it is shameful. Labor is attacking Rudd from all directions, books, media, personal attacks, really...disgraceful.
Labor was a success facing the worst economic recession, but their bully actions are so distasteful that idealistic labor voters can not support such acts.
As I see it and until this election (I was never very directly involved in politics but I am in bullying...)there were some people that expected Rudd to give them a prime ministerial job, and as it did not happen , they start giving him bad advice, leaking problems, and following an elaborated plan to take the opportunity when it was possible.
They supported Gillard but they are starting the same type of bad leaks and small campaigns they did with Rudd(starting with the gay issue and so on).
Their next move will be to remove her, and appoint one or more of the faceless men, or someone that will give them a better ministerial job (Swan???)does not matter if in the process they are destroying the Labor party.
Karl Bittar and company STOP blaming Rudd for the downfall of the party, you did terrible mistakes and the worst ever campaign.
The Labor should be in power for decades after their performance in the world economic crisis. If you can not sell that you should not be in the job.
Instead Labor lost the election if not for the greens and independents alliance.
All over the world leaders are amazed, and can not believe the stupidity of the Labor party, I can not either...
Labor supporters are leaving the party and going everywhere in disgust of what is going on, and present "leaders" are so blind that they give interviews and conferences in TV making the crisis even worst.
Liberals only have to watch your power struggles and self destructing. If it was not for the dislike of Abbot they would have won.
I am not a political expert, only a common person very upset about the bullying I saw and see in the Labor/Media politics.
After observing such behavior over so many months by Labor politicians in the media. I can not believe no one in the Labor party is doing nothing to stop the downfall. What does Labor expect to achieve with this continuous behavior? It is disgraceful and not intelligent at all.
I am not from Queensland can you imagine if I was.
Special note:
This blog is only my personal view and not my associates, friends or family.
I do not have any connections to parties, interests or enjoy any friendship in politics.
I try to be independent and give my opinion in issues that touch my heart, and this is one that I can not let go.
What I see is a person being bullied by so many, it is not healthy to watch it, and someone should tell them to stop.
It is not right for Kevin and his family, and for the so many that suffered this type of behavior at school and work, and they are many(research shows that is 1 in 4 children being bullied at school).
Bystanders usually do not do anything but this time they have the power and are intervening by not voting for Labor.
Labor has to admit that the way they humiliate Kevin Rudd was not right, and it was a distasteful display of bullying in the media politics that touched most of Australia and is still going on and on.
The only way out, it is for Labor to admit that it was wrong, stop bullying Kevin, penalize the culprits, unite and move on.
History will not be kind on this chapter of Australian politics.
STOP THE BULLYING AND MAKE AMENDS
I hope they do not start bullying me also... we are a free democracy, and they would not dare to attack an "insignificant" drop in the ocean like me,or would they?
Off course not, only joking
I Hope Kevin Rudd read this, I bet he would agree with me too.

Baby koala shot 15 times in cruel attack | News.com.au
Baby koala shot 15 times in cruel attack | News.com.au "We are stunned to see this kind of animal cruelty and cannot begin to fathom why somebody would want to shoot a koala that poses no threat to them."
Animal cruelty dates back many centuries and has taken on various forms such as torture, killing, and bestiality. Not only does animal cruelty indicate a lack of affectionate bonds with what are considered human-like creatures, but this crime may often be a precursor to more serious crimes such as assault, rape, homicide and serial killing. Quantitative research suggests that several factors-parental abuse, animal cruelty modeling, living in certain regions of the country, gender, and individual motives-all help to predict whether or not children will engage in animal cruelty, yet fails to fully establish the link between parental abuse, animal cruelty, and future crime. Theoretical frameworks-the graduation hypothesis and the frustration theory-attempt to explain animal cruelty in a parental abuse context, yet also fail to fully establish the connection between animal cruelty and subsequent crime. To better understand the link between parental abuse, animal cruelty, and crime, this paper will incorporate Colvin’s differential coercion theory in the explanation of how parental treatment may lead to animal cruelty and crime. To potentially prevent both crimes against humans and animals, it is important to be aware of early potential warning signs that may lead children to abuse animals in the first place.

I’d rather be treated like a criminal than protect them | Article | The Punch
I could not believe the comments of so many.
They are not thinking of the millions of children abused.
In Australia is 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 7 boys and not counting the ones not reported.
Get real people stop feeling sorry for yourselves and defend the children they cannot defend themselves.
We are talking about criminals of the worst kind, we need another Hinch in the media.
Good luck in your court case.

The elephant in the room | The Daily Telegraph
Following my remarks in the previous Daily Telegraph Paul Howes article about Australians liking a fair go, I almost thought this article was talking to me directly.
According to Paul Howes "'A week is a long time in politics' is true, you can safely say this year seemed like an eternity. It's a year in politics that will be dissected, studied and written about for decades to come."
Paul Howes and Labour should know it is not as simple to accuse Rudd of being a bully to justify why they took the actions they did.
We saw a display of how bullying really works. Personal attacks in the media, and publicly laughing at him crying, it was a humiliating and disgusting behavior.
It was a circus and reminded me of a bunch of nasty school bullies, but in this case there was no excuse because they are mature adults.
This took the joy of many in celebrating the first woman being "elected" as prime minister.
I still feel ashamed and you should too.
The only way to put it behind us is for Labour to admit it was wrong, not because they lost most of the votes, but because no one should be treated the way Kevin was, especially in public. I am amazed with his performance... lucky he has a supporting family.
Labour stop attacking Kevin and justifying your actions, did you all lose your common sense?
Our government is supposed to be a role model to Australians, you should read your own policies in bullying and apply them.
I am only a little speck in the ocean, I am not involved in politics, but I am strongly against bullying in schools, at work ,Media or in politics, and I did not like what is going on.
Despite being an educated and resourceful man, Kevin is a human being and his family suffered the humiliation too, those scars take a long time to heal.
Mr Paul Howes it is obvious that you did not have bully experiences or you would understand what you all did wrong and make amends.
There are four types of people in a bullying situation, the bully, the bullied, the bystander and the one that tries to stop it. Even if he was a bully he was one and you were many, actually too many, bullies.
Think of the following, if Kevin was working for a company and you were his union representative, would you take it to court? I am not attacking you. Only asking you to see the problem with another pair of eyes.
There are so many suffering with bullying in schools, work, and in cyberspace.Be humble and recognize this was a terrible example to our youth.
Labour, stop the bullying, make amends, do not reward bullying behavior and become the idealistic party you should be or you will be no more.

Kevin Rudd waged war on ALP, claims Paul Howes | News.com.auMr Howes SHUT UP it is people like you, not Rudd that made Labour lose the election, even Mr Howard agrees with it.
With your continuous attacks to Mr Rudd what do you think independents and decent Labour past voters will think and do?
Was it not enough to take such a dirty move against a Prime Minister?
Decent people see indecent acts, and even if Rudd is leaking, any normal being will understand why.
Labour needs to do some soul searching, if it wants the matter to go away.
Analyze this issue, putting your Rudd dislikes aside, and see it with a different pair of eyes.
You did remind us once again that the Labour party is not mature and wise. It did not learn that the election results was a combination of bad campaign, bad prime ministerial advice, bastardy acts, and rewarding people that caused the Labour to lose the election(that really did not make sense at all), and just know that the Australian people love a FAIR GO.
Do not complain of dirty tricks, you just remind the public how dirty you acted. Please see it like we see it.
If Kevin Rudd is like you said a vindictive being we should be reading his book not yours(and then Labour will be finished).
I would not like to be in his place, I can imagine the type of bullying is going on behind the scenes.
Every day he looks more and more like a prime minister and I think it is that fact that makes you look like a bunch of vindictive lunatics...enough, leave the man alone.
You should treat him with respect after what you have done to him.
Can you imagine what would you do in his place?
Stop and think profoundly, try not to be bias, you will be amazed how clear a picture you will all have and a shift in your attitudes. No matter how wrong the man was or is, no one deserves to be humiliated the way he was and still is by his Labour colleagues.
If you were able to put your dislikes aside, you could see the justice in the following "He was the victim not you, and that is the way decent people see it and you should too".
What does the Labour party stands for nowadays?

Joel Monaghan dog sex act | Twitter leaker breaks coverJames Griffin, a partner with the online reputation management firm SR7, said the level of education regarding social media that is available to athletes was not adequate. He said sporting bodies should have social media risk management procedures in place.
"By not encouraging athletes to sensibly engage in social media, the field is left open for these sorts of things to occur," he said.
"In this instance, because there is no social media crisis plan in place there was no mechanism for the NRL or the player and club to sufficiently address the issue. The fact that some sporting bodies have chosen to 'ban' social media access is a reminder of how lacking the take-up of social media risk management training has been."
